When it comes to a Cruiser Yacht with a limited number of cabins, the golden rule is: “Less is more.” Cabin space, even on luxury yachts, is limited and the last thing you want is to struggle with bulky luggage.
Here is the final luggage list:
1. Luggage (Most Important!)
NO hard suitcases: They are strictly prohibited. They won't fit in lockers and can scratch the wooden floor or the boat's gelcoat.
YES to soft duffle bags: Use fabric bags that fold up and store easily after you've emptied your clothes.
2. Clothing & Footwear (Yacht Style)
On the boat you will wear your swimsuit 90% of the time. You need clothes that dry easily and do not wrinkle.
Shoes: * A pair of boat shoes or moccasins with white soles (so they do not leave marks on the deck).
Flip-flops only for outings on land (on the boat we are usually barefoot).
Clothing:
3-4 swimsuits (so you always have a dry one).
2-3 linen shirts or polo shirts (they protect from the sun and look elegant).
1 light windproof or waterproof jacket (essential for evening sailing or humidity).
1-2 "good" clothes for dinner in Skiathos town or Skopelos.
3. Personal Care & Essentials
Sunscreen: Use lotion instead of spray. Spray makes the deck extremely slippery and dangerous, and can stain upholstery.
Toiletries: If the boat has a crew, basic items (shampoo/shower gel) are usually provided. Bring only the essentials in travel size.
Towels: Ask if beach towels are provided. If not, opt for microfiber towels that take up minimal space and dry quickly.
4. Appliances & Technology
Power outlets & long cords: Although the yacht will have power outlets, they are often in inconvenient locations.
Waterproof bag: A small waterproof bag to carry your cell phone and wallet with the tender to shore without getting them wet.
Polarized sunglasses: Essential for seeing the bottom and protecting yourself from the strong reflection of the water.
5. The Ship’s “Pharmacy”
Although the crew has a pharmacy, it’s a good idea to have your own:
Dramamine or motion sickness bracelets: Even if you don’t get dizzy, the Aegean can surprise you.
After-sun & Fenistil: For burns or mosquito/insect bites.
Today's breakfast includes a boat trip to the islands of Northern Sporades Pefkofyta, with coves, crystal clear waters, fishing villages.
Sunscreen, hat, towel, swimsuit and find your place on the boat to enjoy the most beautiful view.
You do not have to worry about ... the procedure: you have hired a Yacht with a captain who takes care of everything.
Of course! I’ve created a comprehensive Boat Supply List that includes everything you need: from water and basic food to cleaning supplies and ice.
Some additional tips for stocking up:
1. Water: This is the most important. Never run out of bottled water, as the water in the boat’s tank is usually not drinkable.
2. Easy Meals: Choose things that cook quickly (like pasta) so you don’t spend too much time in the kitchen while at sea.
3. Contact the Crew: Ask the captain if they have any preferences or allergies, as catering for the crew is usually your responsibility.
